Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary Services in accordance with protocols approved by medical staff, as well as department policies and procedures. This role involves delivering timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Administer medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
• Maintain airways and manage ventilators.
• Perform arterial line insertions and intubations.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests.
• Collect blood gas samples and conduct analysis.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience with ventilator management, including ventilator weaning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube (ET tube) management, CPAP, BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments.
• Must hold a certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as either a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Current state respiratory therapist license is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
