Crane Operator

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support stevedoring and cargo operations at the docks. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving materials such as lumber, steel, paper rolls, and other cargo using cranes and heavy equipment in a fast-paced marine terminal environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate cranes and heavy equipment to load and unload cargo vessels, trucks, railcars, and warehouse areas
• Handle various cargo including lumber, steel, paper products, and bulk materials
• Follow all port, vessel, and safety regulations during cargo operations
• Communicate with supervisors, signalmen, and stevedore crews to ensure safe operations
• Conduct equipment inspections before and after shifts
• Maintain productivity while working in changing weather and dock conditions
• Assist with general terminal and cargo operations as needed

Requirements:

• Previous crane operating experience in a port, shipyard, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred
• TWIC card required
• Ability to work rotating schedules, long hours, weekends, and overtime as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to safety and communication
• Experience handling steel, lumber, paper, or bulk cargo preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb equipment and ladders
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work long shifts in an industrial environment
