Software Engineer - MID

Software Engineer-MidThe Software Engineer-Mid will support U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) located at MacDill AFB (Tampa), Florida.Job duties (include but are not limited to):Design and maintain data-driven backend systems to provide secure, high-performance search and analytics capabilities, with a focus on supporting U.S. national security missions.Develop applications using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript; for Python, the Streamlit library is preferred, while React is used for JavaScript/TypeScript projects.Develop backend services for data ingestion and retrieval, design APIs and microservices using Python Flask or FastAPI, and implement DevSecOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on Commercially Available Information (CAI), Publicly Available Information (PAI), and other datasets.Data is stored in Postgres databases and can be accessed via SQLAlchemy.Required skills:Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript React and Python.Proficient in Flask or FastAPI and familiar with relational/non-relational databases including Postgres and Elasticsearch.Proficient with Git, SQLAlchemy, and basic CI/CD pipeline support.What you'll need to succeed:Clearance: Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance is required.Experience: 5 years of related software development experience.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.Certifications: None required; familiarity with AWS, Docker, and DevSecOps tools is preferred.Role requirements: 5 days on-siteDue to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this roleIEX/GDIT is your placeGrowth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunitiesSupport: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goalsRewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, competitive pay and paid time offCommunity: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplaceExplore a career at IEX/GDIT and you'll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your passion for the mission and delivering results.
