Account Manager II – Overview The Account Manager II is a developmental role that involves job shadowing and working alongside and under the supervision of an experienced account manager. The role is designed to expose the associate to technical water treatment problem‑solving and fundamentals of customer selling. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Create, improve, and implement innovative sales strategies to drive ChemTreat’s position and increase share within the assigned geography. Develop key relationships with customers by identifying key decision makers, researching prospects, partnering with senior staff to cold call, following up, learning and implementing strategic questioning, and driving to root issues to identify customers’ needs. Work with senior staff to increase sales and profit margin within the territory. Engage technical staff and management as needed to develop retention and growth strategies. Establish professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts. SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES Learn how to create effective proposals for current and prospective customers. Learn and communicate the ChemTreat value proposition to the customer base. Begin to troubleshoot technical and site‑specific process issues over time. Begin to effectively audit key unit operations. Participate in the entertainment of customers and prospects in accordance with ChemTreat’s entertainment policy. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Organizational skills; self‑management. Self‑motivated with a strategic mindset. Balance of self‑confidence and humility. Team‑player and partner well with others. Identify issues and develop practical solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Industry knowledge specific to water treatment including familiarity with various applications. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science; Engineering or technical degree or equivalent. 2‑4 years of relevant experience. 2‑4 years of experience interacting with customers at all levels of an organization. Experience in water treatment preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Travel dependent on the size of the assigned territory; may require long hours and varied work schedules. Requires sitting, walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, using hands and fingers to handle objects, operating computer keyboards, reaching, squatting, twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 60 pounds. May require driving short and long distances, handling drums weighing 250–800 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, working at high elevations for extended periods, and using ear plugs for hearing protection. Use of hazardous chemicals is routine. WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during deliveries, including eye, hearing, respiratory protection, protective apron, steel‑toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. May work in extreme heat conditions. Indoor and outdoor sites may have high noise levels. Site locations may include boiler houses, cooling towers, water plants, wastewater plants, or process areas.
