Critical Care Nocturnist

Critical Care Nocturnist, Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood SC Nocturnist Intensivist: Open to qualified applicants, Internal Medicine/Critical Care, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Anesthesia/Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine/Critical Care This position involves nighttime oversight of patients in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU and 10 bed Cardiac ICU. Our current open ICU model allows admission to the ICU and CCU by the intensivist team, our hospitalist, family medicine residency, and surgical staff (e.g. CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, etc.). However the ICU will be transitioning to a closed-model wherein triaging and admission of patient will be undertaken by the nighttime intensivist. Our Family Medicine Residency Program functions as the Rapid Response and Code Team for all floors at night. A Typical Night Shift: 7P to 7A. This position concentrates on the night-time admissions and ongoing care of a 30 bed CICU/ICU. Our Hospital: Self Regional Healthcare is a 358-bed county-owned non-profit 501 (c) (3) regional community hospital serving a 7-county area in the upstate Lakelands region of South Carolina. We have 30 critical care beds in our ICU/CICU and a 32-bed step down unit. Our catchment area is an ever-expanding population of 250,000 to 300,000 just 1 hour south of the Greenville metropolitan area. Abbeville Area Medical Center and Edgefield County Healthcare have close affiliations with Self Regional Healthcare as well. Procedures Required: ACLS certification, Central lines, Arterial Lines, Intubation, Mechanical Ventilator Management, bronchoscopy skills encouraged. Specialty Backup: Our team also has a great relationship with our specialty colleagues here. We have extensive specialty backup care support with: Anesthesia, Cardiology (interventional, TAVR, and EP), Critical Care/Pulmonology, CT Surgery, Endocrinology, ENT, General Surgery, GI, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, Maxillofacial Surgery, Medical Genetics, Nephrology, Neurohospitalists, Neurosurgery, OBGYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Palliative Care, Plastic Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery. EMR: Epic, Dragon dictation and DAX (AI Dictation)/Insights. Group Size: 4 Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians currently providing daytime coverage for the ICU.
