Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse

Location: Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM (40 Hour Guarantee)

Job Description: HCRC (Health Care Resource Center) is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team in collaboration with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse will also maintain dispensing equipment, manage medication inventory, and report patient treatment information. The ideal candidate will work cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and exhibit a non-judgmental and accepting attitude towards individuals with Substance Use Disorder.

Responsibilities:

• Administer daily medication to patients in accordance with program policy and medical protocols.
• Utilize automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
• Produce and maintain appropriate records and reports as required by company protocol, Federal and State regulations.
• Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances.
• Order, receive, and stock medication in compliance with DEA and State regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
• Provide daily assessments of patients.
• Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new nursing staff.
• Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 1+ years of medication administration experience - Required
• Opioid Addiction Center experience - Highly Preferred
• BLS Certification - Required
• Skills Checklist - Required
• Two Supervisory Reference Forms - Required
