Surgical Technologist

Located off the beautiful Oregon Coast, this healthcare provider has been a leading service in the area since 1950. With a focus on community health, it encompasses a 25-bed critical access medical facility and various medical offices offering a range of services throughout the region.

The Surgical Technologist facilitates the physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. This role involves managing instruments, supplies, and equipment essential for surgical procedures while ensuring quality patient care and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Verify the surgery to be performed with consent forms and prepare the patient for the assigned operating room.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures and anticipate additional supply needs.
• Conduct appropriate counts with the circulator before the operation and prior to incision closure.
• Prepare and secure sterile dressings after incision closure.
• Check and gather necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up a sterile table with required instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Assist in cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization and room turnover.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology is required.
• Relevant acute care experience is preferred.
• National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification is preferred.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Compliance with vaccination requirements is mandatory for employment, with potential exemptions for medical or religious reasons. Participation in E-Verify is a requirement.
