About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2:30 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma Certifications: None specified Must-Have: BSN preferred Description: Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program with current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. A minimum of 2 years of experience is strictly enforced. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. Acts as a patient advocate and meets surgical standards of nursing practice. Maintains skills in setting priorities and organizing workload effectively. Adjusts to changes in assignments while integrating multiple responsibilities with various personnel. Requires strong communication skills and attention to detail. Possesses a thorough knowledge of sterile technique and demonstrates a commitment to the team concept. Shows strong commitment to completing assigned tasks. Develops and implements total nursing care for patients through assessment, nursing diagnosis, and patient care plans. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in and implements age-specific care and interactions. Collaborates with the healthcare team in the assessment of the patient and family. Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and conducts reassessments as per policy. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain and utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Required to provide holiday coverage.
