Physical Therapy Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW (non-exempt): Prepares patients for treatment and maintains orderliness and cleanliness of department/treatment area.
QUALIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Computer skills.
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred, but not necessary.

None POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Assists PT or PTA in preparing treatment area and preparing patient for treatment
- Informs PT or PTA of any patient report of condition changes
- Assists PT or PTA in patient care as directed
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness in department and PT treatment areas
- Assists with patient scheduling, data entry, patient statistical reports, surveys, daily logs, insurance information collection, faxing information as requested by therapists, collecting & distributing mail and supply ordering
- Checks discharged patient charts for completeness and then forwards to Health Information
- Attends and completes all health center and department in-services as requested by Manager
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, families, and coworkers
- Performs other related duties as requested or required. Regular and punctual attendance
- Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment
- May come in contact with hazardous chemical or treatment modalities
- Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases
- Involvement in inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury
- Work environment is comfortable, with minimal exposure to physical hazards
- Moderate to loud noise environment when machines/equipment in use
- Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury
- Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situations
