Employee Benefits Office AdministratorFacilitate the efficient operation of employee benefits office, interface with all benefit providers, and administer benefits for all eligible CCISD employees. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.QualificationsEducation/Certification/LicensureHigh School Diploma/GEDSpecial Knowledge/SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsMicrosoft Excel and Word to create and maintain files and databasesKnowledge of benefits laws and regulationsKnowledge of bookkeeping/accountingKnowledge of payroll and personnel proceduresAbility to be tactful and empathetic with employeesAbility to maintain strict confidentialityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperienceMinimum of 3 years general office experience preferredMinimum of 2 years of health benefits experience preferredMajor Responsibilities and DutiesServe as contact for district employees regarding Cafeteria Plan regulations, COBRA, HIPAA.Respond to inquiries from employees on various aspects of the district's medical, dental, vision, and other supplemental plans.Track employee benefit elections.Calculate deduction amounts and enter them into employees' payroll records.Maintain and update eligibility database, including effective, change, and termination dates, as well as life insurance and disability insurance amounts.Notify the COBRA vendor of employees needing initial COBRA notice and employees needing COBRA qualifying event letters.Produce Certificates of Coverage as needed.Process and correct eligibility error reports and any other audit reports that reveal discrepancies.Work with insurance companies to troubleshoot and resolve benefit issues on behalf of employees.Reconcile benefit vendor invoices.Present benefits information at new hire orientation meetings.Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.Be knowledgeable about the attributes of the District's benefits programs, as well as policies and regulations pertaining to those programs.Assist with the preparation of the annual 1095 forms.Participate as an effective team member who contributes to District, department, and content goals.Demonstrate integrity and ethics.Display proficient levels of technology applications.Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.Participate as an effective team member who contributes to District, department, and content goals.Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.Working ConditionsMental DemandsEffective verbal and written communication; concentration while performing duties; ability to maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work with frequent interruptions.Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsModerate standing, walking, bending, and lifting; prolonged use of computer with repetitive hand motion; occasional prolonged and irregular working hours.Terms 230 daysPay Grade PARA 6
