Job Summary:
Helix Workforce Solutions is hiring a Hyperbaric Medical Assistant (HMA) to operate hyperbaric chambers and deliver hands-on wound care and patient care in a fast-paced outpatient hyperbaric and wound care clinic. This role combines chamber operations, treatment safety, wound management, and direct clinical care — running daily treatments, performing wound care at the bedside, monitoring patients throughout therapy, and partnering with providers to drive healing outcomes. It's a strong fit for a cross-trained clinical professional who wants both the technical side of hyperbaric medicine and meaningful patient and wound care work.

Key Responsibilities:

Chamber Operations & Safety

• Operate hyperbaric chambers and execute treatment workflow within role competency
• Own daily chamber readiness, setup, and end-of-day shutdown procedures
• Troubleshoot routine chamber and equipment issues and escalate technical concerns
• Enforce all safety, HIPAA, and compliance protocols on every treatment

Wound Care & Patient Care

• Assist providers with wound assessments, measurements, and clinical photography
• Perform dressing changes, wound cleansing, and wound prep per provider orders and clinic protocols
• Set up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for wound care procedures
• Greet patients, complete intake, rooming, and vitals, and prepare them for treatment
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, treatment process, and at-home care instructions
• Monitor patients throughout each treatment, observing for changes in status and responding promptly
• Build trust and rapport with patients to support comfort and adherence to their treatment plan
• Coordinate with providers and clinical staff on patient care, wound progress, and follow-up
• Maintain accurate clinical, wound, and treatment documentation
• Respond to PRN shift opportunities based on clinic need
• Work effectively across assigned clinic locations as needed

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant credential or equivalent approved clinical background
• Current BLS certification
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort operating clinical equipment
• Strong patient-care skills, reliability, and sound clinical judgment
• Schedule flexibility and the ability to perform both hyperbaric chamber operations and wound/clinical care
• Outpatient, wound care, or hyperbaric experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior hyperbaric chamber operations or wound care experience
• Experience performing dressing changes and assisting with wound procedures
• Experience in a fast-paced outpatient or procedural setting
• Comfortable working flexible, variable hours
• Cross-trained clinical and technical background
