Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description
The Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining the Quality Systems, as well as conducting both internal and external audits including NADCAP, AS9100, and ISO9001. This position involves generating and implementing procedures, interpreting blueprints, and managing root cause corrective actions. The role requires interaction with internal employees, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality is built into the product.
Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to initiate quality improvement ideas within key operating departments.
• Develop and improve processes and procedures, providing tactical support for production and inspection.
• Promote continuous improvement activities and lead related projects.
• Conduct root cause and failure analysis for products and related processes, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Support product monitoring by establishing procedures, troubleshooting processes and equipment issues, training personnel, and addressing quality concerns.
• Function as the lead internal auditor, establishing audit schedules as required.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Represent the company with external auditors such as ISO and NADCAP, as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO and AS 9100 standards.
• Perform inspections as required to support the quality function.
• Maintain the quality manual and related work instructions as needed.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action.
• Experience interacting with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience in Aerospace or Automotive industries.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
• Experience with PPAP and APQP processes.

Work Environment
The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and will be involved in customer audits as well as compliance with AS-9100 and other regulatory bodies. The role requires active participation in internal quality program execution and process improvement. Collaboration with various groups to facilitate improvements is essential. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PHOENIX, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $55.29/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
