Role Overview Provides professional nursing care within an interdisciplinary team, applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Key Responsibilities Promotes evidence-based practice through protocols and procedures. Assesses patient status via interviews, observations, and physical exams. Develops and modifies individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team. Implements interventions to meet patient outcomes and evaluates ongoing progress. Documents patient care accurately, including charting and reports. Ensures safety and quality by troubleshooting equipment, performing bedside lab testing, and adhering to policies. Shares clinical knowledge, mentors team members, and promotes professional development. Coordinates interdisciplinary care, utilizes resources, and delegates tasks appropriately. Communicates effectively with team members, provides shift reports, and advocates for patients. Assesses patient education needs, adapting strategies based on age, culture, and comprehension. Participates in performance improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements. Ensures care aligns with standards, safety goals, and quality measures to enhance patient and family satisfaction. Qualifications & Skills Licensed RN in Illinois, BLS certification, nursing diploma, strong clinical assessment, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and patient education skills.
