Design Engineer

Tipton, KS Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Tillage Equipment R&D Team to bring technical aptitude and innovation to agricultural equipment globally. This is an on-site position based in Tipton, KS that works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Design tillage equipment and related electronic components. Create detailed drawings, bill of materials, test plans, etc. Utilize analysis software, evaluate field testing and recommend design modifications to optimize product designs. Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and supply management to ensure product is fabricated, welded and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design. Produce and/or evaluate design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. Preferred Skills And Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural or BioSystems Machinery Engineering, or related engineering discipline from a four‑year college or university. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Proficient with PRO‑E, SolidWorks, CREO or similar programs as well as FEA software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of farming practices and equipment. Understanding of manufacturing methods and processes. Hydraulic and electronic integration skills a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
