Respiratory TherapistOffering $25 - $40 per hourThis employee administers respiratory therapy care to long term care residents with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system according to physician prescription.Job Responsibilities:Review prescription and patient information to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatmentDetermine suitable treatment administration and modifications that may be needed, compatible with physician ordersSet up and operate devices including mechanical ventilators, nebulizers, and/or compressorsOperate equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, oxygen concentration, and/or temperatureMonitor patient response to therapy via vital sign and blood chemistry changesObserve equipment function and adjust equipment to obtain optimal resultsConsult with physician in event of adverse reactionInspect and test respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficientlyOrder repairs when neededDemonstrate respiratory care procedures to traineesPerform staff education at customer facilitiesPerform tracheostomy tube changesLicenses:Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner licenseEducation and Experience:Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy programPrevious related work experiencePhysical Demands:The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Lincare offers employees a variety of competitive benefits that include ongoing training and advancement opportunities.
