Interpreter

A reputable language services company is seeking a full-time interpreter to join our team in Washington DC. As an interpreter you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services for our clients. This position is open to all nationalities but proficiency in English and Indian languages is preferred. Responsibilities Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation for various settings such as meetings, conferences and events Accurately convey verbal messages between English and Indian languages Understand and adhere to the code of ethics and confidentiality standards of interpreting Conduct research and familiarize yourself with specialized terminology related to assigned projects Maintain professional demeanor and composure in high-pressure situations Collaborate with other interpreters to ensure seamless communication during assignments Complete administrative duties such as time tracking, invoicing and client communication Requirements Fluency in English and at least one Indian language (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, etc) Excellent communication skills and ability to convey meaning accurately between languages Strong cultural competency and understanding of cultural nuances between English-speaking and Indian communities Minimum of a bachelor's degree in translation/interpretation or related field preferred Prior experience as an interpreter is a plus but not required Ability to work full-time without restrictions on visa sponsorship Salary Salary for this position starts at $1300 per month with potential for growth based on performance Location Washington DC, USA This position is open to all nationalities #J-18808-Ljbffr ExecuStaff Kuwait
