It runs Monday‑Friday with no weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties. The role will be level I, II, or Senior based on candidate experience. They are reviewed annually and require continued employment through the award payment date, governed by the LTIP terms. What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, following national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management of patient and family needs. The RN supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Provide psychosocial support to patients and families. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care. Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart. Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart. As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Inter‑professional collaboration. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience. Education/Training Level I Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Maintain continuing education requirements. Entry level – 0 to 3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior In addition to Levels I and II. Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred. Oncology certification preferred.
