Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac
Position Overview

Provides inpatient nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions in a medical-surgical or unit-based setting. Monitors patients on telemetry and participates in risk assessment and stabilization.

Collaborates with the cardiology team to implement treatment plans and support discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients; interpret telemetry data and respond to rhythm changes
• Administer cardiac medications and manage IV therapies
• Coordinate cardiology consults, diagnostic testing, and care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress in the EHR
• Educate patients on disease management, medications, and lifestyle changes
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and case managers for discharge planning
• Participate in rounds and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Education:

BSN preferred; ADN accepted with plan to pursue BSN within a defined timeframe.

Licensure:

Current RN license in the state of employment.

Certifications:

• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred

Experience or Skills:

Experience in cardiac inpatient care; telemetry monitoring and medication management proficiency

Experience

• Cardiology or telemetry nursing experience
• Discharge planning and patient education experience

Preferred

• ACLS certification
• Experience with heart failure or post-acute cardiac care

Work Environment

Inpatient unit with cardiac patients; telemetry monitoring and multidisciplinary rounds; variable shifts

Documentation in the EHR and collaboration with cardiology teams
