Job Details Shift: Mon - Friday; 6:30am to 5pm, rotating day off. Call is required. Work Arrangement: On‑Site Department: Operating Room Facility: Capital Region Medical Center – 1125 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO Compensation Base Pay Range: $25.32 to $39.99 per hour, based on experience Special Pay: Additional $1.88 per hour until January 2, 2027 Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 total Option 1: $2,000 per year for up to 5 years (total $10,000) Option 2: $2,000 per year toward student loans up to 5 years (total $10,000) Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away Employee Benefits Health, vision, and dental insurance coverage starting day one Generous paid leave and paid time off, including nine holidays Multiple retirement options, including 100% matching up to 8% and full vesting in three years Tuition assistance for employees (75%) and immediate family members (50%) Discounts on cell phone plans, rental cars, gyms, hotels, and more Detailed Job Description Anticipates the needs of the surgical team Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members Communicates effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians Adheres to standards, including unit and hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation Establishes and maintains sterile field and ensures team maintains sterile environment independently Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases, correcting deficiencies at the case level Performs technical duties involving care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and non‑sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms to provide a safe and effective environment Completes unit/department‑specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents Required Qualifications High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities One (1) year of experience as a surgical technologist; alternatively, completion of an accredited surgical tech program, the MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training may be substituted for the experience Preferred Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by NBSTSA, or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) certification by NHA, or Technician in Surgery – Certified (TS‑C) certification by NCCT Additional license or certification requirements as determined by the hiring department Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
