JOB TITLE : Physician - Gastroenterology (Advanced)

DEPARTMENT : GASTROENTEROLOGY

EXEMPT FROM OVERTIME : Yes

JOB SUMMARY The physician provides clinical care to a vast array of patients who require Advanced GI services in a hospital setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Medical School. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and advanced gastroenterology or endoscopy fellowship at the time of appointment. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Gastroenterology or Endoscopy.

Experience/Physical Requirements

• Experience with advanced modalities including ERCP, biliary stenting, cyst drainage, and endoscopic ultrasound required.
• Experience in group practice and/or hospital setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current, or eligibility to obtain, unrestricted West Virginia MD or DO Licensure. Current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate. Board eligible required. Board Certified preferred. Fully credentialed through medical staff according to gastroenterology services.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain and document all applicable required education and job knowledge ensuring licensure, credentials and continuing education are actively maintained and timely. 2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. 3. Comply with the company's attendance policy. 4. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution. 5. Perform work in a cost effective manner. 6. Attend mandatory in-service, staff meetings and medical staff meetings as required. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Completes all required competencies on time. 10. Perform related duties as assigned.
