Sr. Accountant

With a passionate and devoted crew and loyal and rabid fan-base, we continue to craft some of the most sought-after beers in the universe, with an approach to brewing that continues to be innovative, unapologetic, and as always, “not normal.” We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our brewery's finance and accounting team. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, and analyzing financial results. The ideal candidate has strong accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in brewing, beverage, food manufacturing, distribution, or another inventory-intensive industry is a plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS General Accounting Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation. Assist with annual audits and tax-related requests. Ensure accounting practices comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods. Develop and maintain financial reporting schedules and supporting analysis. Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Provide financial analysis to support operational and business decisions. Accounts Payable / Receivable Support Provide oversight and support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Review vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed. Assist with customer account reconciliations and collections issues. Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow reporting. Internal Controls & Process Improvement Maintain and strengthen accounting controls and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency. Assist with implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes. Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and properly supported. Participate in cross-functional projects and special financial analyses as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis. Experience with an ERP/accounting system. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a brewery, beverage, food manufacturing, or other manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, or manufacturing cost accounting. Familiarity with brewery operations, distribution, excise taxes, or beverage industry accounting. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
