Data Governance SpecialistLocation: Las Vegas, US – Remote Experience Required: B2: 3–5 Years | C1: 6–10 YearsJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support enterprise data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog initiatives.The ideal candidate will have experience documenting data flows, managing metadata, maintaining data catalogs, and supporting data quality and governance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain end-to-end data flow and lineage documentation.Document field-level metadata, data definitions, business rules, and data usage.Maintain documentation for data extracts, transformations, and external vendor data exchanges.Develop and support data governance policies and standards.Populate and maintain the Alation Data Catalog, including datasets, glossary terms, metadata, lineage, and ownership information.Collaborate with data owners and stewards to ensure data catalog accuracy and completeness.Support data quality and data stewardship initiatives.Document data quality rules, issues, and remediation activities.Work with business, IT, and vendor teams to gather requirements and validate data assets.Support compliance, security, and privacy requirements related to data governance.Required SkillsB2 Level – 3–5 YearsExperience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Analysis.Experience with data catalog tools, preferably Alation.Knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and data lineage.Experience documenting data flows, field-level mappings, and system integrations.Strong SQL and data querying skills.Strong documentation and communication skills.C1 Level – 6–10 YearsExperience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Stewardship.Experience leading or supporting data catalog initiatives, preferably using Alation.Strong understanding of data exchange standards, governance policies, and regulatory considerations.Experience developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.Ability to collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders.Core SkillsData GovernanceMetadata ManagementData LineageData Flow DocumentationData Cataloging (Alation preferred)Data Quality and Data StewardshipSQL and Data AnalysisVisio or LucidchartDocumentation and Stakeholder ManagementNice-to-HaveExperience with Data Lake or Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).Knowledge of data privacy and vendor data exchanges.Experience in regulated environments.Exposure to Databricks, Kafka, ETL pipelines, or integration platforms.
