Job Title : Forward Deployed Data Engineer (FDE)

Experience : 10-15 Years
Location : Houston, Texas (Remote)
Role Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Data Engineer to work directly with client teams and deliver production-ready data solutions. The role involves understanding business requirements, integrating enterprise data sources, and building reliable pipelines that support analytics and AI applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work with client stakeholders to define data requirements, source mappings, and acceptance criteria.
- Design, build, and deploy scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark.
- Integrate data from databases, enterprise applications, APIs, and files.
- Develop data transformations, reusable data models, and curated datasets.
- Implement batch and incremental processing, pipeline orchestration, and automated recovery.
- Establish data quality, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring checks.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize pipeline performance and processing costs.
- Document solutions, demonstrate results, and support client handover.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Hands-on experience in data engineering and delivering production data pipelines.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience using Spark or PySpark.
- Experience with Databricks or a comparable cloud data platform.
- Understanding of data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or platform-native schedulers.
- Knowledge of data governance, access controls, lineage, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
