As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) prepares for, plans, and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud.Dedicated Infrastructure Planning and Delivery are the team responsible for the delivery of physical data center infrastructure to serve government customers. Our team has a diverse background including commercial, prior military service and former government experience. Our team is split between the Seattle Metro and the DMV area and we manage projects across the US, while interfacing with our peers overseas. We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Denver CO, Herndon or Arlington VA, or Seattle WA, to oversee data center infrastructure expansion projects in support of U.S. Government customers. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way, they will use judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.At Amazon, along with technical strength, we expect our leaders to interact with internal and external customers, partners and suppliers to understand our joint business goals and priorities, and to execute rapidly, delivering high-quality functionality. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments is a plus. Candidates possessing a Bachelor's degree in architecture/design, mechanical/electrical engineering, software/network engineering, data center infrastructure/operations, and/or construction management, who have transitioned to a program management discipline will have a distinct advantage.The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. On one day, they may review demand forecasts for their assigned region to ensure that future builds are triggered on time. They may ensure that design reviews are effectively conducted. They may deep dive a material delivery issue that threatens their project schedule or resolve a technical challenge uncovered through execution. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
