Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry Unit Location New York Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry Unit. This unit consists of 37 beds and requires staffing ratios of 1:9 for all shifts. Candidates should be comfortable floating to other medical/surgical units as needed and must be willing to provide weekend coverage as part of the schedule, either every other weekend or four weekend shifts per month. Responsibilities Deliver patient care using team-based approaches with interdisciplinary support. Monitor patients diagnosed with diseases of the respiratory, cardiac, GI, and neuro systems, along with potential orthopedic overflow cases. Utilize knowledge of telemetry to provide effective patient care. Administer required medications and manage IV lines, including heart drips and telemetry monitoring. Perform regular assessments and manage care for an elderly patient population. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Active New York RN license required in hand to submit. ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory. Experience with Epic charting system preferred. Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
