Senior Accountant

This role provides accounting support within a centralized/shared services environment for a multi-entity organization. Meeting month-end and quarter-end close deadlines is critical, and some overtime may be required during close periods. This position requires a willingness to learn and leverage new technologies, as well as a proactive approach to process improvements and change initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Apply GAAP principles and maintain a working knowledge of financial reporting requirements
• Perform general account reconciliations, including fixed assets, inventory, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts
• Implement and document processes to support accurate financial reporting
• Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
• Work with general ledger and accounting systems to support non-routine or special projects
• Assist in designing and implementing internal controls and departmental procedures; support training efforts as needed
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors

The role has no direct reports and is performed under moderate supervision. The individual will participate in determining objectives and priorities of assignments, plan and organize work activities to meet deadlines, and present completed work to management with supporting analysis and insights.

Typical minimum education and experience; knowledge/skills/abilities required include:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 510 years of relevant experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with ERP or fixed asset/accounting systems preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work additional hours during month-end and quarter-end close cycles
