Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift position monitoring Advanced Care/EMU patients, requiring IL RN licensure and Epic charting experience.

Details

Advanced Care/EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) hospital setting
Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
Works alongside critical care teams and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:30AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
Weekend requirement of 5 shifts within a 6-week schedule
No on-call responsibilities
Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
ASN required, BSN preferred
Epic charting experience and Level 1 Trauma experience required
Must provide copy of license including NURSYS license information

Additional Information

Responsible for a designated patient assignment utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice
Completes patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
Monitors and documents nursing care, modifying care plans based on ongoing evaluation
Promotes patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards
Utilizes hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to support patient communication
Offers peer feedback and participates in professional development
Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 upcoming major holidays
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Previous Carle Health workers must have a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning
