Accounting Manager (6-Month Contract) (Jersey City)

Our client, an established independent power producer that owns and operates solar and energy storage assets across the United States, is looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager for a six-month contract. The company has more than 20 years of track record, a multi-gigawatt development pipeline, and the backing of a global infrastructure investor.

Reporting to the Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting across a multi-entity portfolio in Sage Intacct and QuickBooks. This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail, takes initiative, and gets satisfaction from seeing the close through from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Run the monthly, quarterly and annual close across corporate and project entities, including the close calendar and checklist
• Prepare complex journal entries and accruals; review reconciliations prepared by staff and outsourced providers
• Perform intercompany reconciliations, eliminations and consolidations
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and shareholder, lender and tax equity investor reporting
• Support tax equity partnership accounting, construction-in-progress, fixed asset and placed-in-service accounting
• Coordinate audit schedules and auditor requests
• Supervise and review the work of staff accountants and outsourced providers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
• 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including reviewing the work of others
• Multi-entity accounting, intercompany and consolidation experience (ASC 810)
• Construction-in-progress and fixed asset accounting experience
• Hands-on experience preparing U.S. GAAP financial statements and disclosures
• Experience in renewable energy, power, utilities, infrastructure or real estate strongly preferred; exposure to tax equity and hypothetical liquidation at book value (HLBV) is a plus
• Sage Intacct strongly preferred; strong Excel skills
• A proven record of working independently, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines with accuracy

This is a six-month contract based on a hybrid schedule in Northern New Jersey.
