IRS CAS Senior Software Developer / Ops Engineer

Salary: $88,000 - 128,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of application-level production support experience for enterprise middleware and integration services.
• We are looking for hands-on experience with IBM webMethods ESB and Java-based BRE/BRMG, or similar technologies.
• We expect strong knowledge of REST and SOAP, XML/XSD/JSON, OpenShift/Linux, AppDynamics, ELK/Elastic Stack, and ServiceNow incident handling.
• We need experience in production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, release validation, failover and fallback support, and certificate or credential issue resolution.
• We require familiarity with consumer issue resolution, runbook maintenance, and 24x7 operational readiness.
• We are seeking a background in software engineering, enterprise API development, Java, Spring Boot, enterprise middleware, microservices architecture, system integration, application modernization, production support, and agile delivery.
• Preferred experience includes IRS or federal government environments, API gateway work, DevSecOps settings, and containerized applications.
• A bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

• We will troubleshoot application issues, resolve incidents, and drive root cause analysis.
• We will validate releases and support failover or fallback activities as needed.
• We will investigate and resolve certificate, credential, and consumer-related issues.
• We will maintain and improve operational runbooks and help ensure 24x7 readiness.
• We will provide occasional onsite support for meetings, deployments, production tasks, and knowledge transfer.
• We will work on internal revenue service support efforts within a federal IT environment.
