Supervises the preparation of food and provides general cooking in a Department of Juvenile Justice(DJJ) facility. Prepares food and provides general cooking. Prepares menus, consults with nutritionist and otherprofessional contacts. Maintains records of amount of food served and number served. Prepares all forms for federal school lunch program. Maintains records for government commoditiesreceived and used; provides forms to the Department of Agriculture. Provides instructional kitchen skills to juveniles assigned to kitchen duties. Ensures proper supervision of juveniles. Prepares food requisitions and maintains food inventories. Maintains logs and inventory books onreceived and used foods and supplies. Maintains routine records for daily costs of meals. Maintains and reports attendance on juveniles for federal programs. Ensures new food items arereceived, checked, dated and stored properly. This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the AppointingAuthority; therefore, the incumbent is not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave. Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:

High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:

Four years of sub professional or professional experience in a food service operation.
