Schedule:

• Training: First shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM for approximately 2–3 weeks
• Regular Shift: Wednesday–Friday, 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Saturday: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Material Warehouse Specialist to support warehouse operations, material handling, inventory management, and parts distribution within a busy locomotive maintenance environment.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working overnight and weekend shifts, operating a forklift, handling materials, processing incoming shipments, and supporting technicians with the parts and materials needed for daily operations.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to work in a customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Material Handling

• Receive and unload incoming trucks and shipments.
• Operate a forklift to safely move, load, and unload materials.
• Process approximately 30 parcel packages per day .
• Organize, stage, and distribute materials throughout the facility.
• Provide parts and materials to technicians supporting locomotive maintenance and repair operations.
• Ensure materials are handled and stored safely and efficiently.

Inventory Management

• Perform weekly inventory counts and assist with inventory adjustments.
• Maintain accurate material and inventory records.
• Track incoming and outgoing materials.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate inventory issues to the appropriate team members.
• Help maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment.

Customer & Team Support

• Work directly with technicians and other personnel to provide required materials and parts.
• Respond to material requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and safety.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a customer-facing work environment.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all warehouse, workplace, and equipment safety procedures.
• Wear required hard hat and steel-toe boots .
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow proper procedures for lifting, transporting, and storing materials.

Required Qualifications

• 0–3 years of warehouse, material handling, logistics, or related experience.
• Willingness to work the assigned overnight and weekend schedule .
• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing at least 35 pounds .
• Ability to work effectively in a customer-focused environment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to comply with required safety equipment and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience .
• Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience.
• Experience using warehouse or inventory management systems.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, transportation, or maintenance environment.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing 35 pounds or more .
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on warehouse activities for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material-handling equipment.
• Must be comfortable working night shifts, weekends, and in an active industrial environment .
• Required PPE includes hard hat and steel-toe boots .

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a reliable, safety-conscious, hands-on warehouse professional who can work independently while supporting technicians and warehouse operations. Candidates with forklift experience, basic computer skills, strong attendance, and a willingness to work off-shifts will be especially well suited for this position.
