This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible./ppA caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m./ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:/pulliFacilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units./liliEnsure continuity of patient care information between shifts./liliCoordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues./liliReview major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers./liliProvide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues./liliInterview, select and orient new caregivers./liliSupervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care./liliPrepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts./liliParticipate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives./liliAssist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliGraduate from an accredited school of professional nursing/liliBachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)/liliCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)/liliTwo years of recent clinical nursing experience/liliBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross/li/ulpPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliPrior charge nurse or leadership experience/liliCath Lab experience/liliExperience with high-level procedures/liliCharge nurse experience/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliThe position requires a considerate amount of physical work not to exceed 50 pounds./liliAny workload exceeding 50 pounds will require assistance./liliThe individual will be required to pull up or re-position patients in bed, lift supplies, place equipment or supports, push beds throughout the hospital and perform external cardiac compressions./liliThe individual must be able to bend over to perform certain duties such as check chest tube drainage, check urine output, etc./liliThe individual must be able to quickly maneuver throughout halls, stairways and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies./liliInterpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills.
