Medical Surgical Registered NurseJob Title: Medical Surgical Registered NurseProfession: Registered NurseSpecialty: Medical SurgicalDuration: 13 weeksShift: 12 Hour Day/Night RotateHours per Shift: 12 hoursExperience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a large hospital setting with 250+ bedsLicense: RN license (ND or compact state)Certifications: BLS - AHAMust-Have: Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting. Level 1 trauma experience. Travel experience (will not consider candidates currently on their first travel assignment). EPIC experience. Willingness to float to all medical surgical units as needed.Description: Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge. Utilizes appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting. Cares for adult medical/surgical patients as well as patients experiencing behavioral disturbances. Provides care in a variety of medical/surgical situations. Ensures patient mobility is supported through the use of gait belts and walkers. Utilizes equipment including EMR, telemetry, monitors, and other necessary devices. Maintains a nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights. Employees must badge in and out of the facility. Scrub color is navy blue. All staff may experience schedule rotation between day and night shifts. Floating to other medical/surgical units is required. Staff may self-schedule but are only guaranteed the days off listed in their contract. Staff may need to trade shifts to accommodate scheduling needs.
