Our client is seeking a senior-level chemist to join its Technical Team. The role applies coatings and dispersion expertise to solve customer problems, support scale-up, and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. It also includes training new hires and contributing to process-improvement initiatives.

What you'll do

• Prepare, refine, and document lab-scale dispersion prototypes using dispersing equipment and established procedures.
• Formulate paint samples from those dispersions and test them, both wet and on sprayed panels.
• Work with technical, operations, commercial, and production teams to define performance requirements and manufacturing constraints.
• Support on-site and off-site scale-up trials with troubleshooting and process recommendations.
• Lead root-cause investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay current on dispersion technologies and trends through raw material and equipment suppliers.
• Write clear reports and documentation for management.

What you'll bring

• A degree in a science-related field.
• 3–10 years of experience in dispersion technology.
• Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: pigmented coatings formulation, radiation cure systems, scale-up and batch processing, physical coatings optimization, FTIR, H-NMR, and GPC.
• The ability to safely handle paints and chemicals, including isocyanates, with proper PPE.
• The ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
