Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, seeks to fill a position in its Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division.
The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and providing outstanding evidence-based clinical care. Principal clinical assignment will be to provide clinical coverage and maternal fetal medicine services as well as to provide teaching and mentoring to our students, residents and fellows in labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum inpatient services, clinic, and sonography. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UT Southwestern) is the home of the largest residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and one of the busiest clinical programs in the United States. We have over 100 faculty members, 175 classified staff, 72 residents, and 18 fellows. The Department has a robust research program and excellent graduate and undergraduate medical education programs. The Department has faculty at Texas Health-Dallas, Parkland Health and Hospital System, which serves a diverse, underrepresented patient population and Clements University Hospital which serves a large MFM referral population. As you consider opportunities, conditions that occur 1% of the time occur every three days in our hospital system as we deliver nearly 15,000 women per year (or 1 of every 270 new Americans).
Candidates must have a medical degree; completed an accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology and by the time of hire have completed an approved fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine; and have attained or be eligible for Texas medical licensure and certification by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community. As an equal opportunity employer, UT Southwestern prohibits unlawful discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, genetic information, citizenship status, or veteran status.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Benefits
