Restaurant Manager

Position Restaurant Manager – Chicago, IL 60610 Job Summary The FOH manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant, taking on additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities include managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, handling POS, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations. The role requires varied hours from 9 am to 4 am, Monday through Sunday, with additional hours as needed. Relocation assistance may be available for Midwest applicants interested in moving to Chicago. Responsibilities Assists in hiring and training staff Ensure guest satisfaction, resolve conflicts and complaints as they arise Contribute to the positive company culture and continue to cultivate regulars Communicate with HR and accounting regarding invoicing and payroll Double check all orders that come in Knowledge of the food menu and table numbers Collect payments whether in cash or credit Issue refunds, and price adjustments Proficiency in Toast POS and OpenTable Strong communication and time management skills Customer satisfaction-oriented Manage menus in house and through delivery (i.e., Doordash, UberEats and Grubhub) Manages and oversees HotSchedules scheduling, adjusts schedules on the fly when needed Handles disciplining and terminating employees in accordance with restaurant policy Performs daily health inspections and oversees food handling Frequent quality control checks on food Ensure compliance in accordance with capacity and liquor regulations Manages liquor, beer and wine inventory and works with BOH for purchases of food and supplies Manages swag inventory and communicates order needs with brand manager Conducts daily checks of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling and hygiene standards Schedules routine maintenance and service on equipment, calls in repairs as needed Takes ownership on tasks and sees them through from start to finish Physical Functions Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and other co‑workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial Regular use of the telephone for communication is essential Must be able to exert well‑paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 10 hours or as needed High levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish Qualifications Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service Excellent time management and organizational skills Decision making and problem‑solving skills; able to identify and analyze problems and offer solutions Responds well to feedback and constructive criticism Able to professionally communicate information to others and actively listens Ability to provide top‑notch customer service in a fast‑paced environment Able to stand for extended periods of time Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed Certifications ServSafe Manager Certification Basset Certification Allergen Certification Compensation Annual Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 Eligible for bonus based on performance and sales metrics Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Dining Discounts Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon a successful background check, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
