Maintains accurate records and files.Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.Basic/Required QualificationsNuclear Engineer IBachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.A Master 's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in EngineeringNuclear Engineer IIBachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.A Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience or 1 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional EngineerPreferred QualificationsBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.Understanding of basic engineering theories and principlesUnderstanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendationsAbility to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgroundsGood written and oral communication skillsPassing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals ExamUnderstanding of basic principles of project managementExperience in the utility industryWorking ConditionsOnsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility. Reliable, consistent transportation is required to ensure timely arrival at the applicable facility.Some business units may require visits to field sites and/or plantsOn-call duty responsibilities will apply.Ability to perform field walk-downs in an operating plant.Some travel off the Duke Energy system may be involved.Specific RequirementsBachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited programA Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.
