Location: 401 West Poplar Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362

Start Date: 07/21/2026

End Date: Ongoing (3-week per month coverage)

Shift: Variable (6a-4p, 8a-6p, 12p-10p, 3p-1a, 9p-6a)

Hours/Week: 10 hours per shift, 1115 shifts/month

Employment Type: Locum Tenens

License/Certs: Active WA medical license, DEA, ABEM certification (must be ABEM-only)

Experience: Prior emergency medicine experience required

Pay Rate: $1.00/hour (plus a $25/hour incentive for night shifts)

Start Timing: Immediate onboarding in September

What You'll Do

• Provide emergency medical care in a busy community ED with 22 beds and over 30,000 annual patient volume
• Manage a variety of urgent cases with coverage from one to triple physicians on shift
• Use EPIC EMR system for documentation and charting
• Collaborate with tele-stroke physicians and a 24/7 cardiac cath lab
• Participate in shift coverage including days and nights, with guaranteed hours
• Adhere to trauma and clinical protocols, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all licensing and credentialing requirements
• Respond promptly to emergency calls and support patient care continuity

What You Need

• Active Washington medical license
• DEA registration
• ABEM certification (will not accept ABIM or ABFM)
• Minimum of 11-15 shifts per month
• Ability to start in September with a clean file

• Emergency medicine experience in diverse settings
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to variable shifts
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to obtain privileges within 1-2 business days
