Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
RN Medical/Surgical provides direct patient care for a variety of adult medical and surgical conditions while maintaining safe, evidence-based nursing practices. This per diem role supports staffing needs across units and requires flexibility to float and work weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and evaluate clinical status to identify changes promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to established care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide pre- and post-procedural nursing care, including patient education and discharge readiness support.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate readiness to float between units based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Maintain current ACLS certification (and PALS/NRP as applicable).
• Verify MMR and Varicella vaccination or provide acceptable attestation of vaccination/declination.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical-surgical nursing workflows and patient safety practices.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and follow evidence-based protocols.
