About Intensive Specialty Hospital

Intensive Specialty Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital serving Northwest Louisiana. Our services include complex medical care, cardiopulmonary and respiratory care, ventilator management, complex wound care, rehabilitation, geriatric psychiatry, adult detox, and other specialty services.

Lead CNA Responsibilities

The Lead CNA is a working lead position and remains actively involved in direct patient care while helping support the CNA/PCT team.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with organizing CNA/PCT assignments and workflow.

• Participate in shift report and walking rounds.

• Provide hands-on patient care and assist with ADLs.

• Ensure timely vital signs, hygiene, toileting, repositioning, rounding, and other assigned patient-care duties.

• Reinforce Q2-hour rounding/turning and fall-prevention expectations.

• Monitor completion of assigned CNA/PCT responsibilities.

• Assist and support CNA/PCT staff when patient-care needs increase.

• Immediately communicate patient-care, safety, staffing, or performance concerns to the Charge Nurse.

• Assist with orienting and supporting new CNA/PCT staff.

• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and excellent patient care.

The Lead CNA leads by example. This is not a desk position—you will be visible, involved, and working alongside your team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Current Louisiana CNA certification.

• Current BLS certification.

• Minimum 1–2 years of CNA experience; hospital/LTAC experience preferred.

• Strong attendance and dependability.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork.

• Ability to prioritize patient-care needs and assist with unit workflow.

• Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused attitude.
