X-Ray Technologist

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to work weekend shifts at a high-acuity academic hospital. This role involves performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, and supporting patient care in a fast-paced environment.
University of Rochester Medical Center is a major academic and Level I trauma center, providing advanced imaging and high patient volume exposure.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general X-ray procedures as per physician orders
• Verify patient identity and review imaging requests
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality images
• Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently
• Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort
• Maintain proper radiation safety and infection control standards
• Document procedures in PACS/RIS systems
• Assist with OR imaging (if required) and department workflow
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray / Radiologic Tech experience
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT Certification (Radiography) - required
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License - required
• BLS Certification (AHA) - required
