About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead and steward the practice, culture, and future of nursing. The CNO will be a visionary leader, responsible for the overall delivery and management of nursing professional practice, education, development, research, administration, and clinical services. This role is pivotal in shaping the nursing workflow, care model design, and operational readiness, particularly in the context of a significant campus expansion. The successful candidate will be a seasoned operator with a strong background in nursing leadership, including experience in an academic medical center or complex healthcare organization. They must be adept at using data and analytics to drive decisions, have a proven track record of improving performance and patient flow, and be experienced in Magnet principles. The CNO will also be expected to have a graduate degree, with a preference for a doctorate, and advanced certification in nursing leadership. Applicants for the CNO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' in senior nursing leadership roles, including prior CNO experience, and a deep commitment to the practice of nursing. The role requires a leader with outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish trust and credibility with a diverse set of stakeholders. Experience in a complex matrix organization, particularly within a unionized or labor-complex environment, is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a history of developing and mentoring strong leadership teams, as well as a proven track record of improving patient experience and team member engagement. They should be strategic, innovative, and have a history of effectively partnering with physicians. Active participation in professional nursing organizations and a robust experience in policy development are also essential.
