Mechanic – Truck Equipment Installation & Repair $30-35 in Fridley Job Overview We’re hiring a hands‑on mechanic to install, repair, and customize dump trucks, municipal trucks, and related equipment. This is a fast‑paced shop role with a lot of variety—ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and solving mechanical problems. What You’ll Do Install and repair dump bodies, hoists, hydraulics, liftgates, tarps, plows, sanders, and accessories. Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication. Complete 12‑V wiring and electrical installs. Use plasma or oxy‑acetylene cutting tools. Read blueprints and work orders. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Test equipment to ensure safe operation. Work closely with a team in a busy shop. What We’re Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude (truck or heavy equipment preferred). Experience with hydraulics and 12‑V electrical. Experience with welding and fabrication. Ability to read prints and troubleshoot issues. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift. Team player with a safety‑first mindset. Nice to Have Experience with dump or municipal trucks. Job shop or dealership experience. DOT inspection experience. What You’ll Get Family‑oriented company culture.
