8 hours per shift, guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Assignment Details
Contract length: 14 weeks.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or CCC eligible.
- Current state license as applicable.
- Proof of current CPR certification.
- Reliable transportation and insurance.
- Graduate of a master's level program in speech-language pathology accredited or meeting ASHA certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assess home environments to identify equipment needs related to speech and language function.
- Identify speech defects and establish a Plan of Care (POC) to improve patient function.
- Administer speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
- Recommend communication devices and aids as necessary.
- Collaborate with other clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care aligns with the POC.
- Document patient care, including progress and ongoing treatment needs.
- Provide education to patients and families on tasks and resources for functional independence.
- Identify needs for additional services and make referrals as appropriate.
- May supervise home health aides in procedures related to the POC.
- Participate in case conferences and in-service meetings as required.
