Overview Kratos Microwave, Inc., a Kratos company, is looking for an experienced Controller to work onsite at their new Folsom facility. General Job Summary The Controller keeps the company’s records in a sound, timely, and accurate manner and maintains internal controls and documentation. This position is responsible for all general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, insurance, risk management, and related functions. An exceptional level of ethics and independent judgment is required. This position may require the ability to obtain security clearance if needed. Responsibilities Establish and maintain the accuracy of all financial records and SOX control procedures for the organization. Direct and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and analysis for 10-Q and Form 10-K reporting purposes, ensuring GAAP compliance and review of revenue recognition methodologies. Develop and implement accounting policies and practices that meet Kratos Global Policy at a minimum. Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, budgets, and analyze financial performance for KMI San Jose, KMI Sacramento and Consolidated KMI America. Analyze and evaluate all available financial data and controls, informing and assisting executive management in recognizing potential problem areas. Manage cash flow, ensure sufficient liquidity, and optimize cash balances; this may include contacting customers delinquent by more than 60 days. Ensure timely accounting, program financials, and inventory control reports to management as requested. Ensure compliance with all company policies for employees, customers and suppliers. Perform employee performance reviews with each employee reporting to the Controller. Anticipate and troubleshoot problems in accounting, cost accounting, and finance, and take aggressive action to resolve them. Review and maintain appropriate segregation of duties within departments. Review and ensure key spreadsheets are identified, locked, and maintained as required by policy. Ensure the Accounting ERP system functions properly and review/test new implementations and upgrades. Other Tasks Lead monthly financial review meetings with Corporate. Develop reports related to OPEX reviews as needed. Monitor pool costs and related rate variances. Lead on identifying, negotiating and managing facility and equipment leases. Collaborate with Project Management to review and update EACs with explanations for material changes. Adhere to Kratos approval matrix related to all finance activities. Perform any other duties as assigned and remain compliant with the Kratos compliance program. Complete training timely and ensure Finance department staff are compliant. Supervisory Responsibility Yes, this position has supervisory responsibilities. Experience And Skills Knowledge, Skills & Abilities GAAP knowledge including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards. Strong leadership skills. Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements. Effective communication with peers and supervisors, and adherence to company policies. Ability to obtain security clearance if needed. Ability to meet stringent deadlines and respond to requests on short notice. Excellent management and communication skills; strong multitasking and organizational abilities. Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential job functions, including computer skills. Experience with ERP systems (Costpoint or similar) and Microsoft Office. Education And Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus. Ten or more years of accounting experience. Experience with accounting audits, SOX audits, and other compliance audits. Experience coordinating with multiple organizations to achieve results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Costpoint or other ERP experience. Preferred: Manufacturing experience is a plus. Work Environment/Physical Requirements Office environment. Ability to stand and sit for long periods; repetitive motion of keyboard/mouse/phone. May be required to lift up to 10 pounds. Travel Requirements Yes, as needed, up to 20%.
