Apply now!!! 2026 Salary Range ($40,736 - $138,370) yearly w/ locality Job Open Date: 7/20/2026 Job Close Date: 8/03/2026 Who may apply: All U.S. Citizens The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Accelerated Compensation for Developmental Position (ACDP) Operations Research Analyst under the direct guidance of a Senior Operations Research Analyst. This position will perform professional and scientific work requiring the design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques for various weapons systems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative courses of action. This position will apply the training and/or education received and complete developmental assignments and training outlined in the formal training plan. The full performance (target) level of this position is an NH-03. Incumbent must meet all regulatory training requirements prior to promotion to the target grade. The incumbent will receive formal, informal, and/or on-the-job training in the specialty area, and assignments will become progressively more difficult in nature. Assignments at this level are designed to provide the knowledges, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties at the full performance level. Requirements: - Obtain & maintain a security clearance - Financial Management Certification - APDP Certification - Basic Requirements: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): 1. Professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices of operations research analysis to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems, processes, and/or operational problems and procedures. 2. Knowledge of mathematics and analysis to develop and use models and conduct cost estimating and analytical studies in support of weapons systems cost studies and estimating efforts; prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate recommendations/conclusions clearly. 3. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. 4. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors and fundamental relationships, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. 5. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.
