Backend DeveloperLocation: Dallas TXWe are looking for Backend Engineers to build scalable APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations for modern digital platforms.Seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable backend services for enterprise-grade platforms. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, along with exposure to distributed systems and production-scale applications.The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance backend solutions that support critical business workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices supporting high-volume transactions.Implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.Design schemas, optimize queries, and manage data using PostgreSQL.Ensure application performance, scalability, resilience, and security.Collaborate with frontend engineers, product owners, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features.Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.Practical experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.Experience building microservices and scalable backend systems.Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend design patterns.Exposure to cloud environments (AWS preferred).Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.Must-Haves5+ years of Java + Spring Boot microservices experience3+ years deploying and operating services on Kubernetes (GKE or AWS)Hands-on JVM profiling and heap analysis experienceLoad testing experienceExperience diagnosing memory leaks and latency issues in productionExperience triaging OOMs and P99 spikesExperience identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities (dependency/CVE scanning, patching)Experience with GitHub pull requests, branch protection rules, and code review workflowsStrong understanding of Git branching strategies (GitFlow or Trunk-Based Development)Experience resolving merge conflicts and maintaining release branchesFamiliarity with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deploymentPreferred (Nice to Have)Experience with GitHub Copilot for developer productivityExperience with Infrastructure as Code repositories (Terraform, Helm Charts)Experience managing Kubernetes deployment manifests using GitOps (ArgoCD or FluxCD)Experience reviewing performance-related code changes and production hotfixes through GitHub
