Advisor (FT), PF3EADVSRCAS The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago. The 273‑acre campus offers nine associate degrees and a variety of professional and technical certificates, many of which prepare students for seamless articulation into the baccalaureate programs of our higher education partner institutions. College of DuPage seeks two full‑time, tenure‑track faculty members to provide Advisor (FT) service starting in August 2026. Primary Duties And Responsibilities The advising faculty will be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment centered in student success. They will assist students in developing and progressing through their academic, educational, transfer, and career plans, helping them reach key milestones that lead toward credential completion and graduation. They will use a case‑load management structure to ensure students feel informed and connected, and will be responsible for: Offering advising services as part of a centralized support system for student success. Advising students on assigned programs and academic transfer planning using a case‑management structure. Assisting students in selecting courses based on educational and career goals and developing an educational plan for their assigned case range. Communicating curriculum, graduation requirements, and prerequisites within the area of study. Educating students on college resources and directing them as needed. Ensuring students are part of the decision‑making process and providing education of next steps. Providing assistance to students as they define and develop realistic goals and map out their educational plans. Participating in academic and occupational program advisory committees. Engaging in relevant continuing education and professional development activities to stay abreast of new advising technologies, methodologies, and resources. Providing referrals to counseling and instructional faculty when necessary. Participating in student development programs and academic program updates to stay abreast of new programs and certificates. Completing the college’s required hours of professional development courses offered annually, or utilizing approved external training programs such as NACADA trainings and certifications. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience Minimum three (3) years of advising in a higher‑education setting; experience in community colleges and understanding of transfer advising preferred. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is preferred but not required. Competitive starting salaries depend on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
