Job Description SCOPE: Provides clinical support to the Medical Oncologist; Functions as a point person/coordinator of services for oncologists and oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into MBPCC system until completion of treatment and throughout follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested. FUNCTIONS Clinical support for Medical Oncologist Phone triage Specialized nursing care of oncology patients Maintains patients’ EMR Provides supervision for and delegations of duties to LPNs & Medical Assistants QUALIFICATIONS Active RN or LPN license in the state of LA required ONS/OCN highly preferred BLS CPR required Oncology/Infusion nursing experience highly preferred Minimum of 5 years of general nursing experience For more than 50 years, the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has provided the highest quality care to our patients.
