Member Service Representative / Teller
Job Summary:Are you passionate about providing exceptional service and support to members? Join our team as a Member Service Representative at a local credit union. In this role, you will deliver friendly and accurate service, assisting members with routine transactions and inquiries while promoting our credit union products and services. - Job Type: Full-Time, Contract to hire
Schedule: 8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday-Friday (no weekends)
- Location: Kentwood, MI
- Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
- Shift: Day Shift Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform member transactions accurately using the CBX system.
- Respond to members’ questions, concerns, and requests for assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information on credit union products and services, including loans, business accounts, and fiduciary accounts.
- Process members check and maintain a cash drawer or pod, accurately balancing funds throughout the workday.
- Handle member transaction requests, such as credit card advances, money orders, and cashier’s checks, following credit union procedures.
- Collaborate with internal departments to research and resolve member issues efficiently.
- Provide frontline support at other branch locations as needed.
- Participate in community events to enhance the organization’s public presence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1-3 years of experience in a financial institution or related field.
- High school education or GED required.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution and relationship building.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds occasionally and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
